Inventor Brian Sloan has taken pleasure to a whole new level with his groundbreaking invention—the brain-controlled Autoblow. Just a few months ago, Sloan secured a patent that allows users to move a sex toy with their thoughts using electroencephalography (EEG). It’s like magic, but real!
Sloan is the mastermind behind the Autoblow, a mechanical masturbation sleeve that has evolved over the past 15 years. From its humble beginnings, the Autoblow has come a long way, thanks to crowdfunding and innovative improvements.
The brain-controlled Autoblow prototype was developed in collaboration with a brain-computer interface research group. They used machine learning classifiers to understand brainwave patterns and map them to different Autoblow functions. Each user’s mind-controlled Autoblow would be custom-trained since everyone’s brain is unique.
Though I couldn’t personally try the brain-controlled version, I spoke to one of the researchers who confirmed Sloan’s involvement in the neuroscience space. It’s no surprise they guessed it was a sex toy project!
The team spent about three months perfecting the mind-controlled Autoblow. By imagining movements of arms and legs, users can control the device’s modes with their thoughts—starting, speeding up, slowing down, and finishing.
As with any groundbreaking technology, there are challenges. Wearing a dozen wired electrodes on the scalp might not be the most comfortable experience, but the potential for consumer-friendly brain-computer interfaces is promising.
The researchers used an EEG headset for the prototype, keeping costs down. However, consumer-level headsets, like those from Emotiv, are more comfortable but still require technical know-how to set up. The real game-changer might be Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain implant company, which recently received FDA approval for human trials.
While a commercially available mind-reading sex toy might not be imminent, the future of brain-computer interfaces looks bright. As technology advances, the possibilities for intimate experiences seem endless.
